Intimate relationships are rich sources of joy and support, but they can also provoke fear and anxiety during any kind of conflict because they are attachment-based connections. I work with all kinds of couples, ranging from dating singles to long-term married partners. Common reasons for seeking couples therapy include fighting over money or children’s issues, infidelity and other forms of betrayal, disagreements over gender roles and sharing space as well as chores, and managing the influence of others such as in-laws. I specialize in working with couples in which one or both suffer from the impact of trauma. I also have experience working with long-distance relationships as well as polyamorous or open relationships.
While you may come in with distinct issues to resolve, we will also work on skill-building to improve communication and understanding. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I have specialized training to work with couples using modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman’s Sound Relationship House, and other attachment-based therapies.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss your specific needs for couples therapy.
